"Although winter snowfall dashed our hopes to launch a trial run on a monthly Holy Hour at Sacred Heart on March 12th, we will try again on April 2nd," announced Dcn. Timothy Dean, who will preside at the Holy Hour. The Solemn Exposition, Adoration, and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will start at 3:15 p.m. and conclude at 4:15 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, which is located at 1055 Broadway (Route 9W), Esopus.
Added Fr. Arthur Rojas, administrator of Presentation-Sacred Heart Parish, "We hope that this trial run will revive Eucharistic adoration at Sacred Heart Church and in our parish in general. We want both churches to offer "son-tans", that is S-O-N tans or opportunities to bask in the glow of the Eucharistic Jesus throughout the year. May our parishioners and people of good will respond to this new opportunity not only for Lenten reflection and contemplation but also for the company of Jesus throughout the year. May God's graces come upon us from these opportunities!"
In addition to this trial run at Sacred Heart Church, a Holy Hour will be celebrated as part of the Lenten Evening of Recollection at the same church on Tuesday, March 29th at 6:30 p.m. Presentation Church at Port Ewen, the sister church of Sacred Heart, has a Holy Hour on the first Saturday of every month after the 8 a.m. Mass. From near or far, everyone of good will is welcome to these events.
