January 28th, 2022, Esopus, New York - In the presence of
Mrs. Marilou Abramshe, secretary of the Presentation-Sacred Heart Parish Council,
Fr. Arthur F. Rojas, our parish administrator, presented a floral bouquet (photo above by Fr. Rojas) in the name of a grateful parish to a happily surprised
Mrs. Gloria Meschi as she concludes today dozens of years of meticulous and prayerful service as administrative assistant and bookkeeper at Sacred Heart Church. The bouquet was designed by local florist
Mr. Ron Smith, whom also appears in the picture above.
"In her notice of retirement earlier this month," observed Fr. Rojas, "Gloria referred to
Ecc
lesiastes and its list of times for different events in life. As she moves from working at our Sacred Heart office to enjoying her retirement full time, the time has come to express the thanks of our parish to someone who is one reason that, in
her words, '
Sacred Heart is the little church with a big heart' and who has been attentive as our two churches are becoming one parish." Most assuredly, Fr. Rojas and Mrs. Abramshe were not the only well-wishers stopping by the Sacred Heart office throughout Friday, January 28th.
In light of Mrs. Meschi's retirement from service today, Fr. Rojas announced that
both parish offices (Presentation and Sacred Heart)
will be closed henceforth on Mondays.Effective February 1st, the office at Presentation Church will be opened on
Thursdays and Fridays.
"On behalf of Presentation-Sacred Heart Parish, may God grant Gloria
many blessed years in retirement. We are glad that Gloria will continue her active membership in the
Martha and Mary Ladies, the women's sodality at Sacred Heart, and the
20 Week Club of our parish," concluded Fr. Rojas.
